Consultation
Dr. Fried offers a complimentary consultation to anyone interested. In this consultation, she will answer your questions about chiropractic and how chiropractic care might help you. This consultation may occur over the phone or in person, if you’d prefer.
First Visit
History
To begin, Dr. Fried will do an in depth review your health history and listen to your concerns. Regardless of the specific reason for your visit, she will take the time to learn about you. She will also answer any specific questions you may have.
Examination
During your thorough exam, Dr. Fried will explore the biomechanics and posture of your body through simple movements and photographs. A hands-on examination of the spine and muscle testing isolates problem spots in the body. Using the Insight Subluxation Station, Dr. Fried will get a clear view of your nervous system and its interaction with your physical body by determining how well the different parts of your nervous system are functioning.
Second Visit
Report of Findings
When you return for your follow-up visit, Dr. Fried will explain her findings in understandable terms. You will be shown the exact location/s of any nervous system interferences and the details of your spinal health. You will learn your NSFi – your Neuro-Spinal Functional Index. The NSFI is a number on a 0-100 scale that tells you how well your body is functioning and how your nervous system is adapting to or is challenged by the stress of living.
You will be given an opportunity to share your specific goals with Dr. Fried, and together you will arrive at a care plan that will accomplish your goals. Dr. Fried will also make recommendations include lifestyle choices and suggestions for other holistic care methods that can support your particular situation. You should walk away from your report with an understanding of what is going on in your body, how you got where you are, and a specific plan for getting to where YOU want to go with your care.
Chiropractic Care
After you and Dr. Fried have discussed the Report of Findings, treatment can begin immediately. Using a variety of techniques, Dr. Fried will tailor care to you and your body. Dr. Fried draws from the following chiropractic techniques to care for people in her office:
- Thompson/Drop work – Thompson care utilizes a special table that has pieces that lift up and drop with specific pressures. You do not generally hear or feel any cracking noises or sensations with this technique.
- SOT – SOT (Sacro-Occipital Technique) divides the effects of stresses on our bodies into three categories, and each is treated differently. Common to the treatment of each category are blocks, or triangular shaped pieces that are positioned in specific ways underneath the pelvis to relieve the different effects of stress on our bodies.
- Motion Palpation – Dr. Fried uses a technique called motion palpation to determine where joints in your spine are not moving the way that they should be. Once she has determined the areas and the ways that they aren’t moving properly, specific chiropractic adjustments are utilized to restore proper motion. Sometimes those adjustments are manual, where a cracking sound may be heard, sometimes Dr. Fried will use an instrument to adjust the area. When the instrument is used, it is unlikely that you will hear any cracking sounds.
- Webster's Technique – Webster's Technique is a specific evaluation and adjustment for pregnant women. It focuses on the relationship between the pelvis and the uterus, and on balancing both so that baby can assume the best possible position for birth.
